The Rain

The rain is falling

It is pitter – pattering

A frog croaks nearby

The Broken Necklace

One day

My  best  friend’s  mom took me to Macy’s

And bought me a top with a necklace

I took care of it so

And then it was gone

So beautiful & fragile

It broke my heart to see it go

Why is it the ones we feel we will disappoint the most

Are our closet and most caring friends

Our hearts are broken to tell the truth

Just like the broken necklace

The Wind in the Trees

The wind in the trees

It frightens me

The swishing

The swaying

“The tree is about to fall”

Is what my mind is telling me

I run for cover

Through the soaking rain

I sneak a peek behind me

There

A face in the tree

It is laughing at me

I run back home

Next day I look out my window

There

The face

Looking ever so lonely

I laugh at the face

Never so scared of the wind in the trees

The Prettiest Snow

On a chill December morning

The snow started to fall

It was as if the heavens were crying

With tears of happiness

At what a beautiful landscape

The land would look like once it snowed

It would look like the green had changed to white

It would be so pretty

The heavens would color themselves with it

It was

SNOWING!!!!!!

The Winter Flower

I was running home on a chill winter morning

When the first snow was falling

I stopped at the crossing to catch my breath

Then I saw the lone flower

It was sitting there all bright and beautiful

With frost creeping up its stem

I picked it up with my gloved hand

Took it home, put in a vase

Set it on the table and laid back

Watched it

All was silent

No words needed to be spoken

All was said by the flower’s nodding head

The Hurt Player

I saw the hurt player
With his broken arm in a cast
I couldn’t watch him play
Using and falling on his arm
I wondered why he chose to play
When he was clearly hurt
I think he’s too brave for his own good
Thinking he can do anything
And fight through the pain
He surely wears a brave face
On the inside, I bet, he’s writhing in pain
The thing I’m trying to say is,
No matter the embarrassment,
If something hurts, just take a timeout

The Evertree

There was nothing but the sea, sun & sky

For the first part of Erdas’s life

Then, came a shining sapling

With silver bark & golden leaves

Her branches touched the heavens

Her roots touched the fiery core

As they breathed life into the world

They created the Great Beasts, and all of us

The Evertree, the source of all bonds

Everything thrived under her rule

Til she became old and started withering

The Great Beasts, except for the Four Fallen

Sacrificed themselves for Erdas

They killed the Evertree

So the world could begin anew

The Little Bunny

The bunny popped up from the burrow

So cute, timid and small

It’s sister came next

Little braver than the first

Their mother pushed them on

The little bunny trailing behind, scared

It jumped at the sound of the falling leaf

And ran at his sister yipping with humor

But then his sharp eyes spotted a stripe

His sister was heading right to it

The tiger jumped out of the bushes

Its claws extended toward his sister

He jumped right toward her

Bumping her out of the way

Then ducking out of the tigers reach

But he turned around

Saw Mom in reach of the tiger’s claws

So he ran to her bumping them both far away

The tiger fell in a thorn bush and died

And the little bunny was never scared again

But he was still cautious

End of the Rainbow

The colors of the rainbow

So radiant and fine

They shine like the sun

With the moon’s crystal glaze

As they ride across the sky in gold rides

Just before they touch the ground

They rear up very quickly

Leaving behind a pot of gold

At the end of the rainbow
